Desperation in the Form of Pot Noodles

I've always been a pot noodles fan. I like how they're so simple and easy to make, yet taste so good, and make you feel all warm inside. And afterwards, when theres nothing but water left, you can drink that and its full of flavour. Mmmm...

Anyway, when I came to the UK, I bought pot noodes. They were yuck. They tasted like rubber, and they werent those long, dangly noodles you get back home. Its like someone cut them up into little pieces. I was so disheartened and disappointed, I didnt buy pot noodles in the UK again.

Yesterday, out of desperation, I bought pot noodles. Same brand, same flavour. Now, I dont know if the pot noodles in the UK are better, the rubber here tastes better, or it was just me being so hungry, but those noodles were delicious. Something about them...they were the same noodles, but for some reason I loved them!

There was this one flavor of Pot Noodle called Bombay Bad Boy. I couldn't believe that brits could tolerate a flavor that hot. It was like just pure chili. Good stuff, but you need an industrial strength constitution to deal with it or else suffer the consequences.

@bimzo: the brand is called...wait for it...POT NOODLE :o creativity that just blows you away, really. Chicken and mushroom flavour, and you can bet your socks that theres no chicken or mushroom in it.

@Mcti: I cant stand spice, or couldnt before, but Ive become a bit more immune. I live with a couple of guys who have spicy steaks for breakfast. Hell, they even put crazy amounts of pepper and spice in their pasta. Sometimes when I'm hungry. But I tend to avoid spice when I can.

@NF: how could you not like noodles??? Noodles are like...student cuisine. theyre the most convenient thing after bread. In fact, if they had pasta-flavoured loaf, I would be the happiest student alive...

Z instead of eating normal pot noodles why don't you go for whole-grain noodles (whole-wheat/spalt)? Its healthier and higher in fiber. And then make an easy vegetable sauce to go with it! Much better for you.

    advantages of noodles:

    - cheap
    - easy to make
    - sometimes taste alright
    - warm, whatever else

Samyah, you want me to ditch all those advantages and go for whole-grain noodles, which are (assumingly) more expensive, ok prob taste better (maybe)...and on top of that MAKE a sauce to go with it?

I'd rather cook fish :p I mean okay sure its healthier and that, which is good of course, but if I was to do that, it wouldnt be for a quick snack like noodles, it would be to accompany something else, yeah?

PS what is a whole-grain noodle. Oh and you just reminded me, my old drama teacher used to call me a noodle (she ended up marrying an alien - so shows how reliable she is)
