Time to Go Home
Its that time of the year again, time to go back to Oman for the winter break. Winter break is always great: best time of the year. The weather is fantastic, everyone is back home, good food, good fun, good times, a break from the routine, a break from the miserable weather, a break from study. For two or three weeks we're allowed to forget that our futures are being shaped by how we perform in our studies. We're allowed to be free for a while.
I'm in my last year, and so this might be my last 'official' winter break. I might do a masters next year, who knows, in which case I should get one then too. But if not, I imagine the way my holidays work will be a bit different. Its sad, because at the moment I do get a lot of holidays. It'll be tough to adjust to just 3 or 4 weeks a year, rather than a season. But who knows. Even if I do stay in university, the fact that everyone else in my year (my pre-uni friends) are moving on as well, getting jobs or going into postgraduate study, means everything will change anyway. They wont have the same holidays, the same routines, etc. etc.
So in a sense this is probably my last 'typical' winter break. I plan to make the most of it.
See you all in Oman!
